The Hernandez family are full of energy and pizzazz, collected from their many adventures around the world. Manuel is Spanish and Venezuelan, with Rebekah an all-American girl. They have lived in places as diverse as Saudi Arabia and Cameroon, with their three daughters born in Malaysia, Texas and Egypt.
Life as an oil industry family can be hard. Manuel has to travel for much of the year, while the girls are currently settled here in beautiful Colorado. The time apart makes reunions all the more special and I was thrilled to be able to capture this wonderful family together, one summer evening in Parker, Colorado.

In the intense heat of July, Don and Bobbie Bevins departed from their home in Florida, for a very special family reunion in Parker, Colorado. Despite the dazzling light, the change in altitude and a very hot day, the Bevins sat for portraits with their beautiful children and grandchildren, to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Everyone took much-needed breaks in the shade, between pictures. Holley - one of three siblings - planned the family reunion, organized the portraits and coordinated colors. She provided waters for everyone and bubbles to amuse the children, fetched chairs when her parents got tired and brought this GIANT umbrella for shade! I also spotted a tower of delicious-looking cupcakes on the table inside the dining room, after the portraits session.... It was important for Holley to get a picture with her mom and dad. The last picture she could find of the three of them was from when she was a young child. After the kids were all done, they ran back inside the house, for some treats and prizes that I brought for them. They definitely earned their rewards!
Finally, we took a few extra pictures of the happy couple, spending some quiet moments in the shade. Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary, Don and Bobbie! As of May 2016, Rebecca Berra Photography is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, to help enrich the lives of local families in need. I am excited to use my photography to contribute to the valuable work of our local branch of this global non-profit. Habitat for Humanity empowers hard-working families and provides them with the support they need to buy a safe home at an affordable price. What turns a house into a home? That's where I can help. My contribution I am working on a year-long project with a family who are getting ready to build and saving up to pay for their family home, with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. I will provide Habitat for Humanity with my images of Habitat families and volunteers, to help promote their life-changing work. YOU can help!
Each creative family portrait session with Rebecca Berra Photography is designed to be a fun and joyful experience. You and your children will cherish happy memories from a special day, images to share with family near or far, and portraits to pass on down the generations. This year, your investment in family portraits will help provide the opportunity for local families working to rise above challenging circumstances to spend time with their children in a positive experience, and to receive the gift of a family portrait to treasure and keep. |
